Sasanoa River, Maine

Having discovered the eagle nest empty the day before, I made a quick check to see if perhaps the fledgling had returned. But the nest was still empty.

I did also get a few pictures of the osprey family - they're also growing fast, and it won't be all that long before they also start flying around. I think it's Dad flying in the second picture, and Mom on the neighboring tree, keeping watch over her chicks-in-hiding.
