The little one is now two weeks old!
This is the first time he or she has been up and active when I've stopped by - chicks sleep a lot at that age, so that's not surprising - but today we saw a nice long feeding. All pictures click bigger, though the ones of the little chick taken from the monitor mostly just get fuzzier.
Here's the view of the nest from our table - we had the lobster stew as we'd been outdoors for a few hours (Charlie had been performing at the local Heritage Days festival, and then I spent some time on the bridge checking out the nests around the corner while he went down to bail out the boat). As always, the food was delicious!
And a few close-ups of Mom as she paused while feeding the chick. She had a nice big fish, so I think she also had a nice lunch once the little one was full. I think we saw Dad flying off as we arrived, so all is looking good!

If you'd like to see additional pictures from this nest, and from the osprey nest "around the corner" on the Sasanoa River, you can use the link for my Local Wildlife Home Page at the top of the page to see an index to all the visits.
