Hancock Wildlife Foundation, where I do some volunteer work as a website administrator for an online discussion forum, has cameras in several eagle nests in British Columbia, and we were invited to watch the installation of a camera tower on the edge of one of the salmon rivers where eagles gather in late fall and early winter – and while Charlie and I were at the tiny airstrip where the tower was built and taken out by helicopter, a local flying team gave us an impromptu air show – and that's where we got the picture for our card this year.
I'm not sure if Santa has hired them to escort him across BC – but I wouldn't be surprised!
